Environmental Care
At PortAventura we assume our Environmental obligations. That is why we have an Environment Policy and work to fulfil it.
Our commitment to the Environment began even before PortAventura was built, by adapting the project to the lie of the land and the original landscape. Care was taken to preserve the surrounding area by using rainwater, separating sewer oils and replanting damaged trees.
In 1997 we created the Equip Verd Environment Committee to lead our environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with the EMAS (Eco Management and Audit Scheme) management system: an international system that allows us to continuously assess and analyse our performance.
In 2003, the Eco-Quality Board of the autonomous government of Catalonia's Medi Ambient I Habitatge Department awarded the Sign of Eco-Quality Warranty to the hotels at PortAventura.

Moreover, PortAventura holds the ISO 14001 Certification. This standard specifies the requirements for an environmental management system, allowing the organization to develop and carry out policies and objectives that take into account the legal and other voluntary requirements to which they subscribe, as well as information about the significant environmental aspects applicable to PortAventura.
